Thank you to all who have showered the Lautenschlager Family with love and support during this dark and painful time of loss. Lucy may be gone from this earth now, but her story and legacy will live on and impact lives for years to come...
*We are in the initial launch phase, this is a new venture actively being built out following the accidental and unexpected October 13th, 2023 death of Lucy Lautenschlager. Please see the tentative objectives below.*
Rae of Change: Lucy's Legacy is a nonprofit organization dedicated to honoring the life of Lucinda Rae Lautenschlager, affectionately known as Lucy, and spreading awareness about the dangers and tragedies of drug abuse, including the misuse of prescription drugs. Lucy's story, though marked by the challenges of addiction, is a source of inspiration and the driving force behind our mission.
At Rae of Change, we are committed to several key objectives:
1. Raising Awareness: Our primary goal is to educate communities, schools, and families about the significant risks associated with drug abuse. We focus on promoting responsible prescription drug use and proper disposal.
2. Support and Resources: We offer resources, counseling, and peer support networks to individuals and families affected by addiction. No one should face the challenges of addiction alone.
3. Advocacy and Policy Reform: We actively advocate for policy reform, working to improve addiction prevention, treatment methods, and reduce the stigma surrounding addiction. Policy change is a powerful tool in our mission.
4. Memorial Events and Awareness Campaigns: We organize memorial events and launch awareness campaigns to remember Lucy and inspire hope for those facing similar challenges. These events help us connect with our community and promote our cause.
5. Fundraising for Research: We raise funds to support addiction research, contributing to better prevention, intervention, and recovery methods.
Rae of Change is not just about remembering Lucy's life; it's about turning her story into a beacon of hope for others facing similar challenges. We believe in the power of community, compassion, and change, and we invite you to join us on this journey. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of many and work towards a world free from the suffering of addiction.
